Sci-Fi: Endhiran and Terminator Salvation
This seems to be a case of BLATANT COPYCAT act! But who is copying whom? The answer is obvious!
The Indian Sci-Fi film Enthiran co-written and directed by S. Shankar, and featuring Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles, is going to be released worldwide on 1 October 2010 along with its dubbed versions: Robot in Hindi and Robo in Telugu.
But the American Sci-Fi film “Terminator Salvation” directed by McG and starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington (The fourth installment in the Terminator series), was released on May 21, 2009 in the United States and Canada, followed by early June releases in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
So, obviously Enthiran did not exist when Terminator Salvation was produced or released!
This is not the only picture that looks similar in appearance in both the films. You can find many more on the internet, especially on photo-sharing sites like Flickr.com

Aishwarya Rai in David Letterman show - recap
In this video clip of Aishwarya Rai’s famous interview with David Letterman, he tries to make fun of Indian tradition, but he gets burned straight down with her curt, punchy, straight-on-the-face replies. After greeting Aishwarya Rai as the “Most Beautiful Woman in the World”, during the interview Letterman asks her:
David Letterman: “Do you live with your parents in India?”
Aishwarya Rai: “Yes, I do.”
David Letterman: “Is it common in India for elder children to live with their parents?”
Aishwarya Rai: “It’s common in India to live with your parents… it’s also common in India that we don’t need to take appointments with our parents to meet for dinner.”

Enthiran (Robot) Exclusive HD Movie Trailer
The city of Chennai is getting ready, like the rest of the country and various other centers in the world where the fans of Rajnikant films are waiting for the release of the science fiction movie Enthiran (Robot). The tickets have been sold out within minutes of opening booking and fans are scrambling for tickets.
The film is full of special effects, animation and the latest technologies in Sci-Fi film production technology. Excepting a few scenes of dance and songs, the entire film has plenty of special effects. The producer Shankar has opted for 'Light Stage', a technique adopted in filming Hollywood blockbuster “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” in which 80 lights were used to capture a series of shots. Additionally, “Animatronics”, a kind of mechanical puppetry, a never before attempted 3D animation is used in the climax of 'Enthiran', said Director Shankar to the media.
Written ten years ago by Shankar, and the production started three years ago after many hurdles and postponements in the production of the film, the mere thought of the scope of such a highly technical film stunned the Indian industry, especially in view of the huge production costs, about Rs 190 crores, according to the latest reports.
The film will not fall into the usual genres of a Shankar film as it is quite different for the Indian film audience, technicians, and the director Shankar himself. Shankar says, "It is a film which will have a linear narration, with plenty of action, and far fewer dialogues… Go watch the film without expectations, and you will be stunned. Go with expectations and you will enjoy the film."

Lindsay Lohan released from jail
This video is a mosaic of the best pictures of Lindsay Lohan, the troubled, jailed, drug-addicted American celebrity who is the heartthrob of millions of her fans.
For those who are eagerly looking for news on her jail term and release, here is the latest scoop on the former teen sensation’s tryst with drug-and-alcohol-stricken destiny.
Various news media report that Lindsay Lohan is released from jail on Friday night after spending around 15 hours behind bars for evidence of another failed drug test.
The 'Mean Girls' star Lohan, 24, was led handcuffed from a Beverly Hills courtroom early on Friday morning for a third time in three years when a judge found evidence of substance abuse that makes her a criminal, and ordered Lohan, to be kept in prison until an October 22 hearing, but his decision was later reversed by a supervisor and Lohan paid a $300,000 bail to walk free again.
The former teen idol and star of films like Freaky Friday, Lohan, now released, was in the Century Regional Detention Facility in the Los Angeles suburb of Lynwood just before midnight, according to the celebrity website TMZ.
In late July and August, the Mean Girls actress served two weeks of a 90-day jail sentence and then 22 days in drug rehabilitation for violating probation on charges of drunk driving and cocaine possession.
However, Lohan's release cannot be termed as being let free unconditionally, as she will be required to wear an ankle alcohol monitor for nearly a month and she cannot go anywhere that alcohol is the main thing that is being sold.
The Hollywood actress and singer Lindsay Lohan is due back in court on Oct 22, when the judge who curtly sent her to jail will decide what her punishment will be for failing a drug test roughly two weeks after he released her early from rehab.
'Ms. Lohan cannot be released early because this isn't a jail sentence. She's being held by court order until her hearing,' contactmusic.com quoted jail sources as saying before Lohan was released.
Lohan walked free Friday night after posting a $300,000 bail, after Lohan's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley appealed to Judge Elden S. Fox's to remand the actress in custody without bail until October 22.

Endhiran (Robot) to hit screens on October 1
The much awaited science fiction Tamil film Endhiran (along with its dubbed versions Robot in Hindi and Robo in Telugu), which was scheduled for release on September 24, has again been postponed for release on 1 October 2010, in view of the expected verdict of the Allahabad High Court on the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid issue. Yet another mega-budget movie Anjaane Anjaani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, was also scheduled for September 24 release but now postponed for release on October 1 for the same reason.
The Tamil Sci-fi movie Enthiran, directed by S. Shankar and produced by Kalanidhi Maran and Hansraj Saxena starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles, has its soundtrack and background score by the Oscar-winning composer and music director A. R. Rahman. Though the initially planned production budget of Endhiran was Indian Rupees 150 crore (US$ 32.55 million), now it has been reported that the final budget of the film is Rs 190 crore, making it the most expensive Asian film ever made. The film is also slated to make the largest worldwide opening for an Indian film.
The release event of the Telugu version, Robo, was held in Hyderabad on 6 August 2010. The event was attended by Chiranjeevi, D. Ramanaidu, Mohan Babu, Srinu Vaitla, Kajal Aggarwal, Kamna Jethmalani and many other celebrities. The Hindi version, Robot, released in Mumbai on 14 August 2010 was attended by guests such as Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and many other celebs of Bollywood, apart from the film's sound mixing engineer and Oscar winner Resul Pookutty and Danny Denzongpa, who is also featured in the film.
Meanwhile there are reports of the fans of superstar Rajinikanth praying to make Endhiran a huge success, while Rajinikanth himself is planning to go for his usual pilgrimage to the Himalayas, a usual practice of Rajinikant before any of his films hit the screens.
The final stage of the sound mixing of Endhiran was completed on September 20, and A. R. Rahman, Resul Pookutty and the film's director Shankar and the technical team of Enthiran were present for the stage.
The film's soundtrack was released on 31 July 2010, coinciding with a promotional event held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Co-hosted by Vivek and "Punnagai Poo" Geetha, the event was attended by Kalanithi Maran, S. Shankar, Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai, A. R. Rahman, Santhanam, Karunas, Vairamuthu, R. Rathnavelu, Anthony, Sabu Cyril, and Yogi B, as well as invited guests including Dayanidhi Maran, Radha Ravi, Vadivelu, Shriya Saran, Jayam Ravi, Ramya Krishnan, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Aishwarya and Soundarya Rajinikanth, Krish, and Sangeetha Arvind, while Silambarasan Rajendar, Vijayalakshmi Agathiyan, and Poorna made stage performances.
After the second day of release of Endhiran's soundtrack album, it became #1 on the Top 10 World Albums chart on iTunes in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, a first for an Indian album to reach the top spot.
Anjaana Anjaani delayed to avoid clash with Babri Masjid verdict
On September 24 the Allahabad High Court is expected to give a judgment in controversial Babri Masjid Demolition case, and it has given film makers cold jitters. Two of the mega budget movies, “Robot” and “Anjaana Anjaani” earlier scheduled for released this Friday, have been postponed to October 1, 2010.
The comedy- romantic flick “Anjaana Anjaani” now will hit theatres on 1st October instead of 24th September. The main reason given is the Ayodhya verdict which will be declared on 24th September. Gossip sources report that the film’s hero Ranbir Kapoor had a talk with the producers on this serious issue and the Babri Masjid Demolition case verdict should be respected and it is not wise to release the film on a date to clash with it. The director Siddharth Anand said that he doesn’t want to risk the film’s release and it won’t be a big deal if it is delayed by a week. The film took about a year to produce and surely the producers do not want to risk its fate at the box-office by clashing with Ayodhya-Babri Masjid cases.
Anjaana Anjaani, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala (under his Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd banner) and Sharan Kapoor (under his IBC Motion Pictures banner) features Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Zayed Khan. The film’s music is by Vishal-Shekhar and cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran.
The romantic comedy film is about Kiara (Priyanka Chopra), based in San Francisco, while Akash (Ranbir Kapoor) is a New York City boy, both trying to find luck after several failures in their careers and in love lives. Both are fed up and they decide to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge (Brooklyn Bridge? Remember the poem by American poet Carl Sandberg?), and they land up on the same bridge at the same time, when instead of killing himself, Akash stops Kiara from jumping and tells her to travel with him to Las Vegas, the sin capital of the world, to make it big (from gambling?).

Dabangg Stills
Dabangg, the 2010 Hindi action film directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, features Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha (daughter of Shatrughan Sinha) in lead roles. It is the debut film of Sonakshi Sinha as an actress, for Arbaaz Khan as a producer and for Abhinav Kashyap (brother of director Anurag Kashyap) as a director. The movie Dabangg also features Om Puri, Vinod Khanna, Anupam Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Mahie Gill, Malaika Arora (item number) and Sonu Sood (main antagonist) in supporting roles.
Dabangg was released on 10 September 2010, and the film broke many records at the box office within the first week of its release. The film set the records of the highest opening day grosser and the highest weekend grosser of all time at the Indian box office, breaking records set earlier held by 3 Idiots. It is now the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time and the highest-grossing film of 2010.
Sonakshi Sinha went on a special diet and trained for two years in order to get into shape for her role of a village girl, reports said. The film was mostly shot in Maharashtra and a song and some other portions were shot in UAE.
The film Dabangg received mostly positive reviews from critics and was welcomed by audiences in packed cinema halls. Dabangg also received positive response in the overseas markets such as USA, UAE, UK, Australia, Mauritius, South Africa, Fiji, and some other territories of Europe, Asia and Africa.
The film was produced at a budget of Rupees 42 crore (US$ 9.11 million) and it could collect a gross revenue of Indian rupees 104 crore (US$ 22.57 million) as the initial 10-day collections. Producer Arbaaz Khan and elder brother Salman Khan are on cloud nine as the film did exceptionally well at the box office and they plan a sequel, Dabangg 2, about which Arbaaz Khan said, "Yes, there's a 110% possibility that we will start Dabangg 2, but when that will happen is yet undecided. See, Salman has several commitments to fulfill, so Dabangg 2 will take some time to start. But it's definitely on the cards."
