Neetu Chandra was born in Patna, India, is 5'7" tall and is a black belt in Taekwondo. Before entering modeling and acting career (print ads, theater and films), she excelled as a sportswoman, represented India in International Taekwondo Championship at Hong Kong (1996) and in World Korfball Championship at New Delhi (1995).
She struggled hard for small print ad campaigns in Delhi in the beginning of her career. Her hard work and perseverance took her to the Hindi film Industry with the Hindi movie “Garam Masala” (in 2005 with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham) in which she portrayed Sweetie, an airhostess. Following that, in 2006 she starred in the Telugu film “Godavari” directed by Sekhar Kammula. In 2007 she appeared in the film “Traffic Signal”. She was also acting in the Tamil film, “Yavarum Nalam”, her debut film in Kollywood in which she did the role of Priya, and the film’s lead actor is Madhavan.
In March, 2008 7Seas Technologies announced that they would develop a 3D mobile game with Neetu Chandra playing the lead character. The game was to be titled on her name, Neetu (The Alien Killer), is based on a unique game story and revolves around the lead character killing different aliens. It is about the future, 3000 AD, when more than half of the world was destroyed by greenhouse gases, global warming and similar man-made disasters. According to the story, Atlanto City was captured by the aliens, who came from a faraway outer space galaxy. Thousands of citizens were killed and an organization, ASETI, sends Neetu, a valiant and intelligent female, the only hope to save the Earth from the alien regime.
Neetu was on the cover of men’s Magazine Maxim India on the January 2009 issue of the magazine. She has posed for the magazine in very hot and revealing manner, and some argue, her dare bare act would sure bring her more chances in Bollywood. Her recent (2008 year end) hit in Hindi was “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!”, a surprise hit. And the flick's luckiest charm is Neetu Chandra.
