Belly-dance with the NAGIN song, original

The song ‘Main Teri Dushman…’ from Nagina (1986) was used to perform in the video Belly-dance with the NAGIN song in the last post. The Belly-dancer performs reasonably well, though she lacks the facial expressions best portrayed by Sridevi in the original. Also, her dance also seems far better than the belly dancer’s presentation. It can also be noted that some of Sridevi’s moves are similar to moves in Arab belly dance. This in fact corroborates the saying that belly-dance is a misnomer for what is actually traditional Middle Eastern dance (especially Raqs Sharqi), also called Middle Eastern dance or Arabic dance in the West, or by the Greco-Turkish term çiftetelli.
