It seems Sania Mirza’s problems are getting compounded as the latest addition to her woes is struck by the Sunni Ulema Board of Hyderabad that issued a FATWA saying that it is un-Islamic for a man and woman to live under the same roof before ‘nikah’. The two sports stars have been staying at Sania’s residence for more than a week. They addressed the media together and they have been exercising together, according to reports.

The fatwa says their behaviour for the past one week has been ‘‘unacceptable’’, their proximity before marriage ‘‘shameful’’, and the fatwa ridicules Sania Mirza for not wearing ‘purdah’, which is a ‘‘must for pre-wedding celebrations according to Islam.’’

‘‘It’s un-Islamic for a man and woman to see each other during the ceremonies before the ‘nikah’. Therefore, what they are doing is not correct,’’ said Hasibul Hassan, general secretary of the Sunni Ulema Board.

There are also speculations making the rounds that the couple had already married secretly some time ago and they have been living as man and wife occasionally, and the April 15 marriage is only to make it public and sanctify it.

In the last week, according to Google, “Sania Search” got the topmost hits in Pakistan, the Middle East countries and India.

A fake “Sania Mirza” sex video posted on YouTube got over two million hits in the span of just a few days. It is a pre-existing video, a fake, renamed and posted by someone on YouTube, according to some sources.
